The GRACE VISION FOUNDATION is the culmination
of a vision shared by an experienced group of professionals from different walks of life,
to make a tangible, direct and meaningful difference to the society we live in. This
like-minded group of professionals, who have an accredited record of medical, community
health and organizational leadership, believes that the scourge of preventable blindness
is a huge economic and social burden. It also feels that eye care services are unevenly
distributed both within and across states, and that there is a strong need to reach out to
under-served areas to try and make a difference in correcting the inequitable distribution
of eye-care services.
Taking a leaf from the hugely successful experiment of Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai, India,
the GRACE VISION FOUNDATION is attempting to serve as a platform to envision, plan
and set up a chain of Secondary Base Eye Hospitals, each with a cluster of primary
“Vision Centres”, to seek out and eradicate preventable blindness.
The GRACE VISION FOUNDATION is presently registered as an
Association in India, and is in the process of getting registered as a not-for-profit
company under Section 25 of the Companies Act of India, 1956. All financial investments
and generated profit will be utilized solely to promote the aims and objectives of the
Company as spelt out in its Memorandum and Articles of Association.
